| Almesa Winery is an exclusive collaboration between the Hatch and Hovannisian families. A boutique, family owned winery that produces small lot premium hand crafted wines. John Hovannisian is vineyard owner and manager and Kim Hatch is wine maker/wine making director.
The Hovannisian Vineyard was established by developing a 17-acre alfalfa field into a syrah wine grape vineyard in 1996. Sustainable farming was and will always be our goal. The vineyard thrives with life both under and above the soil. In 2007 the vineyard yielded 3 tons per acre. In 2008 the production was 2 1/2 tons per acre. The berries are small and concentrated with a balanced acid and PH. We do not have a tasting room. But we can provide you with a private tasting at the vineyard for up to 8 guests.
